Personal website of Jared S. Lyon — executive leader, institution builder, U.S. Navy veteran, and Ph.D. student in the Social Science Ph.D. Program at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

Jared served as President & CEO of Student Veterans of America from January 2016 to January 2026 (Acting CEO from August 2015; Senior Advisor through the planned succession, January to June 2026). Under his leadership, the chapter network grew from roughly 400 to more than 1,600 chapters across all 50 states and three countries. Across the twelve-year tenure (Chief Development Officer from 2014), the team stewarded more than $71.7 million in cumulative organizational revenue, including an $8 million unrestricted gift from MacKenzie Scott, the largest single gift in the organization's history, received and stewarded as a governance test.

Jared is also currently working on a four-essay public series called The Common Good, addressing education, work, trust, and public purpose, and is preparing for a September 9, 2026 appearance at the George W. Bush Presidential Center's "A Legacy of Service: America at the 25th Anniversary of 9/11" program alongside President George W. Bush, Secretary Condoleezza Rice, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine. He is also scheduled to speak at MCON in Las Vegas in October 2026.
